The Sphinx is arguably the most iconic representation of ancient Egypt, and is an extremely popular tourist attraction. It is located in the city of Giza in Cairo, Egypt and stands at about 20 meters high and 73 meters long. The Great Sphinx of Giza is a human-headed lion carved out of limestone around 2500 BCE.
Because of the fact that millions of tourists visit each of these attractions every year to see the great artifacts they had earlier only seen in books and TV, I believe these artifacts have left the greatest legacy. They are the iconic images that best capture ancient Egypt’s culture and history.
